Important note: Population rates of disease are calculated using Statistics New Zealand population estimates downloaded from stats.govt.nz. Where these are unavailable for a particular area and demographic grouping (e.g. DHBs and ethnicity groupings) the usually resident population from the New Zealand Census of Population and Dwellings for the nearest available year is used. This site provides access to data for selected notifiable diseases.
